HSE Management

Developing Technical Expertise and Safe Habits

Fluor’s health, safety & environmental (HSE) programs, processes and training help our operations plan and execute work safely.

Our HSE Management System establishes uniform requirements for all of our operations. It provides a common framework for how our employees execute HSE at project sites and offices and ensures global consistency in the application of our HSE practices.

One of the most important aspects of our HSE Management System is our Life CriticalSM operations. We reviewed our own experiences and benchmarked these with other companies and industry groups to sharpen our focus on the precursors that can lead to serious injuries or fatalities.

Training

At Fluor, we take the time for training, mentoring and acclimation to our standard of working Safer Together.

Coupled with hands-on experience, our computer-based and classroom training helps prepare our people to safely perform their duties. More than 79,485 HSE training course completions were recorded in Fluor University® in 2025. Our 91.6% HSE training completion rate exceeded our 77% goal for 2025.

Recognition

We celebrate safety achievements. Fluor’s HSE Awards Program is designed to recognize projects and offices for exceeding our safety expectations and implementing successful initiatives with measurable results, providing unmatched value for our clients. Our HSE Safer Together Achievement Recognition (STAR) Awards and HSE Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding performance annually. In 2025, one of these awards were given to 12 sites.

The Silver Medallion honors employees who act heroically to save another’s life. In 2025, the award was given to 22 recipients for acting to assist others in life-threatening situations.

The Bronze Medallion honors employees involved in an incident where serious injury or potential fatality was avoided by the implementation of control measures specified through work planning processes. In 2025, this award was presented to four employees.
